UnusualU is a career discovery and guidance platform designed for students who want to explore real, unconventional, and emerging career paths beyond the usual engineering, medical, or commerce routes.
We connect students with experienced professionals and career counsellors who have taken non-traditional paths, so students can learn directly from people who have actually done the work — not just read about it.
Our goal is simple: to help students make informed, confident career decisions early — before they feel stuck or pressured.
UnusualU counsellors are industry professionals, founders, creators, operators, and domain experts from diverse and unconventional fields.
They are people who:
- Have built real careers in emerging or offbeat domains
- Understand how career paths evolve in the real world
- Can give honest, practical advice — not generic textbook guidance
Each counsellor is carefully onboarded to ensure they can communicate clearly with students and guide them in a supportive, non-judgmental way.
UnusualU is primarily designed for students from classes 6 to 12, but it is not limited to high school students.
It is useful for:
- Middle school students curious about future careers
- High school students confused about streams, colleges, or fields
- Students who don’t see themselves fitting into traditional career boxes

Our counselling sessions are small, interactive, and discussion-based — not lectures.
Here’s how the process works:
- Students are grouped into small cohorts of 3–5 students
- Each cohort joins a live video call with a counsellor
- Students can freely ask questions, share doubts, and discuss career paths
- Curated questions and prompts are shared in advance so even shy students know what to ask
Process flow:
- Student shares their intent to join
- A one-time fee of ₹999 is paid
- Payment is confirmed by our team
- Once a cohort is completed, we schedule the counselling call at the earliest
- Students join the live session and engage directly with the counsellor
The focus is on real conversations, clarity, and exposure — not one-way advice.
